Distance: 7 km one way.
This walk, linking the Kerbeleg estate to the village of Moëlan-sur-Mer, offers an immersion in the heart of the Finistère countryside, far from the hustle and bustle of the coast. Stretching for around 8 kilometres one way, this route is an invitation to switch off, passing through landscapes of fields and forests where nature is reclaiming its rights.
A rural and green start
The route begins amidst wide open spaces. Leaving Kerbeleg, walkers set off along paths that run alongside vast cultivated fields. This first part of the route allows you to soak up the region’s rural atmosphere, shaped by the changing seasons and the surrounding tranquillity. The air is fresh and the views unobstructed, offering an immediate sense of freedom.
The forest crossing via the greenway
One of the highlights of this walk is the use of the V5 greenway. This former railway line, converted into a cycle path and walking trail, offers a shaded and safe setting. The path then enters wooded areas where the canopy filters the light, creating a peaceful atmosphere. It is a particularly pleasant stretch on sunny days, allowing you to walk in the cool shade whilst enjoying the birdsong and the lush local flora.
Arrival at the heart of the local heritage
The route continues to the church at Moëlan-sur-Mer, marking the arrival in this charming Breton village. For those wishing to adjust the difficulty, it is possible to shorten the route by taking a small road down towards the Bélon, offering a more direct alternative. Whether you choose to walk the entire route or leave a car halfway, this walk remains an accessible and rejuvenating experience, ideal for discovering the natural and architectural heritage that links these two iconic spots in southern Finistère.
