Pets

Your four-legged friends can’t stay at Kerbeleg, and yet… We’ve always loved them! But the two mascots of the house are a little cat, Leelooch’ (a little squint and red fur depending on the time of day), and Tofu the latest arrival, who are both bursting with affection. Three free-ranging Indian racing ducks have also joined the gang.

These domestic animals, rescues from the SPCA and other semi-wild palmipeds, are very sensitive to the presence of foreign animals, which frighten them. On the other hand, our cats adore humans and will happily rub shoulders with them, purring on your lap by the fire or at sunset. If by any chance you are allergic to cats, please let us know and we will leave them in our room during your stay.

There are other, more general reasons for our decision regarding outside pets:

Hygiene :
They can sometimes cause hygiene problems in guest rooms, particularly by leaving hair, odours or droppings. This may require extra cleaning and lead to unforeseen costs to keep our rooms spotlessly clean and welcoming.

Behavioural disturbance :
Pets can sometimes cause behavioural disturbances to the well-being of other visitors or owners. Barking, meowing, scratching or aggressive behaviour can cause noise pollution and disrupt the stay of other guests. Unprepared dogs and cats can also become formidable predators for our ducks, which wander happily around the garden.

Legal liability :
They can cause property damage or injury to other guests, house owners or property of the establishment. This can lead to legal liabilities that we wish to avoid.

Friends of cats and wild animals… see you soon!
