A bright welcome on Kerou beach
I arrived on Kerou beach at around 1pm, bathed in radiant sunshine that made the sand and sea foam sparkle. Wild Sauna Popaïan stood out against the landscape with a natural elegance: a mobile wooden hut perfectly integrated into the environment, warm and welcoming. It doesn’t just look good, it invites you to immerse yourself in the experience. David has thought of everything: a practical coat rack to hang our clothes, don’t forget to take your cosy towels for the sauna and the beach, and above all a selection of organic essential oils that delicately perfume the air with enveloping, soothing scents. Every detail prepares the mind and body for a unique experience.
The interior: warmth, wood and sea
As soon as I walked through the door, the warmth enveloped me like a cocoon. Sitting on my towel in my swimming costume, I found myself facing the immense bay window overlooking the sea. The contrast was fascinating: my body immersed in deep heat, while my eyes were lost in the intense blue of the ocean and the silvery reflections of the sun on the water. The interior, all light wood, is punctuated by colourful carpets that offer softness and comfort to the feet. A few drops of essential oils on the hot stones release a subtle, enchanting fragrance that mingles with the warm breath of steam. Every breath becomes a pleasure, every glance towards the horizon a moment of deep contemplation.
The magic of thermal shock
After twenty minutes in the sauna, my skin glistening and my body relaxed, I walked towards the sea. The icy water seized me instantly, but the persistent warmth of my body softened the contact, transforming the cold into a delicious, invigorating shiver. My skin flushed, stimulated, every sensation amplified by the extreme contrast. My heart beat slightly faster and every breath seemed clearer and deeper. I repeated the experience twice more, alternating between enveloping warmth and invigorating sea baths, savouring each moment as my body awoke and the energy flowed freely through me. With David’s sliding scale of charges (€8 for the first session, €7 for subsequent sessions), almost two hours passed like a gift to the body and mind.
