Soft dark chocolate and lemon salted butter caramel cake

There are hundreds of recipes for moist cakes, all different from one another, most of them delicious, but this one is sure to tantalise your taste buds with a rather unusual combination of flavours…

Ingredients

Serves 6

  • 90ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 75g butter
  • 90g brown sugar
  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 90g buckwheat flour
  • 20g walnuts
  • 6 teaspoons lemon salted butter caramel

Recipe

  1. Preparation of the cake:
    • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
    • In a bowl, beat the eggs with the brown sugar, milk and flour.
    • Melt the butter and chocolate in a bain-marie or microwave.
    • Stir the melted chocolate into the mixture.
    • Pour the mixture into 6 individual ramekins.
    • Add a teaspoon of caramel to the centre and cover with chocolate (to create a light crust when baked).
    • Sprinkle with crushed walnut kernels.
  2. Serving:
    • Serve hot straight from the oven
    • Garnish with a small biscuit (for crunch)
    • Serve with a scoop of lime ice cream
