GR34 walk from Pont Aven to Port Manech

This magical half-day hike requires a little preparation because it is long. It follows the banks of the Aven through the undergrowth. You will discover a sublime fauna and flora, lunar landscapes at low tide.

A mini-bus is available during the summer season from Port Manech to Pont Aven and will pick you up easily, but for other seasons you will need to arrange to be collected from your arrival point.

This hike is sublime, with many viewpoints along the banks where you can enjoy a picnic or drink. This is our favourite of the summer.

Discover this magnificent stretch of Brittany’s iconic GR34 trail, also known as the “Sentier des Douaniers”. Get ready to immerse yourself in a breathtaking adventure that will take you along steep cliffs, golden sandy beaches and picturesque little ports. Our walk begins in Pont Aven, birthplace of the Impressionist painters, where the river Aven winds its way between old granite houses. From here, we’ll follow the red and white arrows that mark the path, passing through mysterious woods, green fields and authentic villages. Our final destination is Port Manech, a little corner of paradise nestling in a sheltered cove, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the Atlantic Ocean. Get ready for moments of pure natural beauty and cultural discovery along this legendary coastal path.
